KSantosYoga is bringing YOGA to Physical Education because every child should learn how to breathe and move. Yoga has been around for thousands of years, and it is used in a physical education class to improve flexibility and muscular strength. Breathing properly is a simple and effective way to self-regulate. Making yoga fun for children will enable them to learn, develop, and practice a variety of skills that will help to maintain or improve mental and physical health.
Kristen Santos, BS, M. Ed, E-RYT 200, CRYT, & YACEP, started to practice Yoga to improve her fitness and decrease anxiety. Because she found Yoga so beneficial, she wanted to bring the practice to her students. Kristen has been teaching Physical Education in Massachusetts Public Schools since 1998. She took her first Childlight Yoga training in 2017, "Yoga and Mindfulness for Children". During the summer of 2020, Kristen was a member of the first 200 Hour (RYT) virtual training that Childlight Education Company offered. Returning to school in September of 2020 made Kristen even more passionate about bringing Yoga into the PE Curriculum. She is the creator and author of The Yoga Curriculum for Physical Education K-5, & The Yoga Curriculum for Physical Education 6-8.
Not only does KSantosYoga sell curricula, but we also provides professional development for schools on how to implement Yoga into their PE Curriculum. Visit the Professional Development tab for more information to request an estimate.
